Guide To Opening Your Account

GTBank SL Limited makes your banking needs top of its priorities. GTBank can help you operate personal account or business account, opening an account with Guaranty Trust Bank is easy. By complying with the basic requirements below you can be an account holder with the Bank. It can either be an individual current account, Business account, Customer Foreign Currency account, Savings Account

Individual Current Account
Complete an Individual current account opening application form and Account Opening mandate, and submit them with the following documents:

• Two passport-size photos
• A copy of utility bills that will serve as a proof of address
• National Identification card, National Drivers License/ Passport, etc
• A minimum of one hundred thousand leones (Le.100,000)
Two Reference Forms each duly completed by an individual maintaining Current Account with a Bank with any commercial bank in sierra leone (One passport photograph of each signatory with full face forward.
Identification document for each signatory e.g. International Passport,. Please bring along the original for sighting.

Corporate Current Account
To open your corporate current account
Complete all relevant portions of the Account Opening application form.

Insert your company name on the two reference forms endorsed and get individuals or companies who currently maintain current accounts with any commercial Bank in Sierra Leone to act as referees. Your account will be opened faster if the referees maintain accounts with any branch of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

Supply the under-listed documents along with completed application package.

Please bring along the original documents for sighting. Photocopy of certificate of Incorporation of your company

Copy of certified true copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association of Your Company

Copy of Form C07 (Particulars of Directors)

One passport photograph of each signatory to the Account (with full face forward)

Identification document for signatories to the Account, e.g. Driving License, International Passport, staff Identity Card etc Resident permit for foreign citizens

Mandate and resolution in the Package is to be signed by the Director and Secretary with the Company Seal.

Sole Proprietorship/Partnership Current Account

Complete all relevant portions of the Sole Proprietorship/Partnership Application Form and Account Opening mandate and return the package along with the following documents:

• One completed Signature Form (A leaflet is enclosed in the account opening package which is available in all our branches).
• Two Reference Forms each duly completed by an Individual or Corporate body maintaining a Current Account with any commercial Bank in Sierra Leone(Detachable Reference Forms are included in the package from any branch in GTBank).
• Copy of Certificate of Registration of a Business Name.
• Copy of Form 2 (Showing the name(s) of the Proprietor/Partners).
• Partnership Deed (where applicable).
• One passport photograph of each Signatory (with full face forward).
Current Identification of each Signatory e.g. International Passport, Drivers Licenses, e.t.c.

Public Organizations Current Account

A completed Public Organization Account Application Form and Account Opening Mandate and return the package with the following documents:

• One complete Signature Form
• Passport photograph of each signatory.
• Photocopy of International Passport/Driver’s License e.t.c. of the Signatories to the account for identification (originals are to be presented for sighting on submission).
• Letter from the Governor/Minister/Commissioner/Director General/local Government Chairman/Secretary/Sole Administrator (whichever is applicable) authorizing the opening of the account and listing the names of authorized signatories to the account, OR a certified true copy of the Board of Directors/Executive Council resolution authorizing the opening of this account and listing the names of authorized signatories to the account.

A certified copy of:
• The Enabling Acct/Decree OR Certificate of Incorporation
• Memorandum and Articles of Association
• Form C07, (Original/CTC to be sighted) Financial regulations governing the administration of the establishment (where applicable).
Individual Savings Account

GTBank’s Savings Account product is designed to give you the flexibility of saving funds as well as having access to the fund whenever you need it. The interest rate is competitive and payable every month, irrespective of the number of withdrawals during the month.

The basic requirements for opening a savings account with us are:
• One recent passport photograph
• Identification document e.g. International Passport, National Drivers License, etc. (Please bring along the original for sighting)
To begin the process of opening a Savings Account with GTBank choose Individual Savings Account (for adults) or Minors Savings Account (for the under age).

Customer Foreign Currency(CFC)

GTBank’s CFC Account product is designed to cater for your need to hold your funds in other currencies other than the Naira, giving you the flexibility of utilizing your funds any where in the world.

If you already maintain a current account with us simply print and fill our Individual Domiciliary Account form or Corporate Domiciliary Account form.

If you are new to Guaranty Trust Bank, you can begin your relationship with us by filling the appropriate form and submitting it along with the requirements for opening a current account with us.
