The following describes a current account and how you can open one with our bank:

1. A Current Account is suited for making payments to third parties by Cheque. This is convenient and obviates the risk of carrying large amounts of cash. If your Cheque or Cheque book is stolen or lost you must immediately inform the bank and we will stop money from been drawn from your account if those Cheque are presented later.

2. A Current Account does not normally attract interest, though under special circumstances, (E.G. The maintenance of a large enough balance on the account and with special prior arrangement) the bank can pay Interest on a current Account.

3.Commission on the Turnover is taken on the Current Account Current account on a monthly basis.

4.To apply for any of our Current account, download the relevant application form below, complete it and send to any of our branches.

5.The number of days for a Cheque to clear (i.e. for the amount of on the Cheque to be available to you) after you pay the Cheque into your account, is normally three working days for Cheque of Freetown branches and Fourteen days for upcountry Cheque This is because we have to collect the payment from the bank of the person or business who wrote the Cheque.

6.The following documents should be provided to open a Current Account:

Corporate Duly completed application form Specimen signature of signatories to the account Passport photographs of each signatory to the account, Memorandum and Articles of Association Identification Document for each signatory to the account, e.g. Driving License, Passport, Certified true copy of certificate of incorporation Board resolution Reference letters.

Individuals Duly completed application form Specimen signature of signatories to the account, Passport photographs of each signatory to the account Identification Document for each signatory to the account, e.g. Driving License, Passport, Reference letters.

Sole Proprietorship / Partnership Duly completed application form Specimen signature of signatories to the account, Passport photographs of each signatory to the account Identification Document for each signatory to the account, e.g. Driving License, Passport, Certificate of Registration (Form B) Certificate of Registration (Form C) Business License for current year Application for Business registration (Form BR-A) Partnership Deed (For Partnership) Document of proof of address in the form of a recent utility bill (telephone, water, light) or letter from your landlord to confirm residential status of the business.

Public Organizations Duly completed application form Specimen signature of signatories to the account Passport photographs of each signatory to the account Identification Document for each signatory to the account, e.g. Driving License, Passport. Letter from the Account General / Minister / Commissioner / Director General / Local Government Chairman / Secretary / Sole Administrator, whichever is applicable, authorizing the opening of the account A certified copy of the Enabling Act or Constitution Financial Regulation governing the administration of the organization where applicable

Clubs /Societies / Associations Duly completed application form Specimen signature of signatories to the account Copy of Certificate of Registration A copy of Constitution Rules and Regulation of the association etc. Passport photographs of each Chairman, Secretary and other signatory to the account Identification Document for each signatory to the account, e.g. Driving License, Passport.
