Guaranty Trust Bank Donates 12.5 KVA Generator to the "Well Woman Clinic" PDF Print E-mail

Guaranty Trust Bank (SL) Ltd has donated a 12.5KVA generator to the Well Woman Clinic costing approximately 22.4 million Leones. This donation is indicative of the interest the bank shows in the health sector in Sierra Leone in general and in particular in promoting women’s health especially in the field of reproductive health which at this point in time needs a lot of boosting.

The generator will serve as a guaranteed source of uninterrupted power supply to assist in the production of quality imaging of ultrasound and mammogram pictures. This will boost The Well Woman Clinic’s ultrasound project as part of its screening programme for early detection of complications in pregnancy and screening by mammography for early detection of breast cancer.

The Programme Director, Mrs. Jennifer Renner-Thomas thanked the Board, Management and staff members of Guaranty Trust Bank for such a laudable gesture and for the confidence bestowed on the Chairman, Members of the Management committee and the staff of the MEPS Trust Well Woman Clinic. She indicated that the bank’s support of this programme is yet another demonstration of the bank’s awareness of its Corporate Social Responsibility by assisting in the reduction of maternal mortality in Sierra Leone and also in reducing the incidence of death from breast cancer.

"The Clinic is slowly achieving its dream of rendering free or affordable quality preventive health care service to women in Sierra Leone. To this end, the Trustees and Management of the Well Woman Clinic take the opportunity once again to thank the Guaranty Trust Bank and also all their volunteers especially the team of medical experts particularly Dr Len Gordon Harris, Dr Lynette Palmer, Dr Agnes Kanu and Dr Nnenna Mbonu for their continued support."
